Brief
I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons for a long, long time.
So when the pandemic hit, my friends spread out, and I found myself without a D&D group. We looked up online resources to help us play and found a number of online virtual tools that encouraged online play. My group tried a number of these over a few months and we all found our experience to be lacking. We weren't having as much fun, we weren't as immersed in the game and we were all struggling with the interface.
I set out to ideate on what a better virtual D&D experience would look like. Below you'll find my efforts, along with video preview of one of the prototypes I put together.

Highlights
I aimed to provide a better experience by targeting some critical areas of the experience that I encountered issues with on other virtual table-tops.
- An easier way to access character and creature information
- More fluid combat that keeps the immersion and further gamifies the experience
- Clearer visibility denotation, dynamic lighting, and encounter set up
